How long have you been a member of the OceanFirst Bank team? What role do you play on the Bank Team? I am in house counsel for the Bank. I have been with the Bank for 1 ½ years.
What has been your favorite volunteer activity – and why? So far I have enjoyed volunteering at the Little Hero Prom for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I helped decorate the ballroom for the celebration. We knew we were setting up a great event for worthy recipients. The group of people helping set up were from all different companies and we had an instant working connection that made the task more enjoyable.
What has volunteering taught you? Volunteering reminds me that the world is bigger than just me. It grounds me and helps me remember how fortunate I am and how much I should appreciate my gifts. It also allows me to share those gifts with others throughout the community.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? I never knew what I wanted to be as a kid and I still am trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I am not sure if the issue is whether I don’t know what I enjoy the most or if I just haven’t grown up yet.
What was the last book you read? I am an avid reader and mix up the genres and subjects regularly. I just finished The House of Gucci by Sara Gay Forden, a biography of the Gucci family and the Gucci fashion brand.
Are you a traveler or a homebody? I prefer travelling. I love seeing new things and having new experiences. I am a people watcher by nature and love witnessing others’ impressions and expressions as they too experience new things.
What is the last TV show you binged and what review would you give it? I recently finished Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. It is a slapstick murder mystery series. The series follows three different residence in a Upper West Side coop building who bond over their love of murder mystery podcasts. Of course there are a number of murders in their own building and they set out to make their own podcast about them and to solve the murders. I would recommend the series to anyone who appreciates darker humor.
What was the last thing that made you laugh? The conversations between my children, Evan (age 11) and Avery (age 9) make me laugh everyday. They are 22 months apart and since the time they could interact, they have acted like an old married couple. They are the best of friends and the worst of enemies simultaneously. This morning my daughter was fixing my son’s hair so that he wouldn’t look ridiculous at school today. He immediately undid everything she corrected and she threw up her hands and said “I give up!”
