Zero Liability Policy
OceanFirst’s Zero Liability Policy is our guarantee that you won't be held responsible for unauthorized debit card charges made with your account or account information. You're protected if your debit card is lost, stolen or fraudulently used, online or offline.
Our Guarantee
OceanFirst Bank offers you zero dollar liability for your debit card, online banking and mobile banking* transactions.
- For Debit Cards. OceanFirst’s Zero Liability Policy is our guarantee that you won't be held responsible for unauthorized debit card charges made with your account or account information. You're protected if your debit card is lost, stolen or fraudulently used, online or offline.
- For Online and Mobile Banking. Customers can confidently use online and mobile banking knowing they will not be liable for any unauthorized online bill payments and funds transfers made through OceanFirst’s Online or mobile banking*.
If you suspect fraud, you must notify OceanFirst Bank immediately of any unauthorized debit card, online banking or mobile banking use including a lost or stolen card and/or PIN.
Replacement funds are provided, on a provisional basis and may be withheld, delayed, limited, or rescinded by your issuer based on the following:
- Gross negligence or fraud
- Delay in reporting unauthorized use
- Investigation and verification of claim
- Account standing and history
- The unauthorized transaction(s) must be posted to your account before replacement funds may be issued
*Mobile check deposits are covered by standard check clearing policies and are not covered by the Zero Liability Policy.
We will credit your account within 10 business days (5 business days for Visa Debit Card POS transactions) for the amount you think is in error, so that you will have the use of the money during the time it takes us to complete our investigation.
