The role of an Executor in settling an estate can be cumbersome and complicated. Family dynamics may dictate the need for an objective and impartial third party. OceanFirst can serve as an Executor or Agent for an Executor and administer the Last Will and Testament by applicable state law.

As an Executor, OceanFirst will carry out the instructions of the Testator and oversee the administrative duties, tax accounting, and asset management until final distributions are made to the beneficiaries.

As an Agent for Executor, OceanFirst can handle most estate administrative and asset management tasks, such as marshaling assets, arranging for payment of debts and expenses, executing securities transactions, recordkeeping, and post-mortem planning for the estate and its beneficiaries.

Ensuring that a disabled loved one receives the care they deserve requires expert guidance. At OceanFirst Bank, we can help. Our team of trusted advisors is committed to ensuring that your loved one's needs are appropriately met.

A Special Needs Trust is a trust established for a person with special needs. It is designed to manage the assets for that person's benefit while permitting them to receive essential needs-based government benefits. A Special Needs Trust can be established with the beneficiary's assets, such as proceeds from a legal action, and is commonly known as a "first-party" or self-settled trust. A Special Needs Trust can also be established by a third party, such as a parent or grandparent, who establishes the trust with their assets to benefit the beneficiary.

Due to their complexity, Special Needs Trusts must be carefully structured and administered to be effective. OceanFirst can be your Special Needs Trust resource by serving as a Trustee or Co-Trustee. As such, we will manage the trust's assets for the benefit of your loved one, according to the instructions you have provided in the trust document.
