What can the CommUNITYFirst Program do for my favorite causes?

The Program can increase the financial support the organization receives. It allows OceanFirst customers to connect their qualified accounts to a participating nonprofit organization. OceanFirst Bank then makes quarterly donations to the nonprofit based on the average balances maintained in those connected accounts.

Can I connect my account to any nonprofit organization?

A customer’s account can only be connected to organizations that are enrolled in the Program. For questions, please visit your local branch, contact us at 1.888.623.2698 or email us at CommunityFirstProgram@oceanfirst.com.

What does it cost to participate in the CommUNITYFirst Program?

The CommUNITYFirst Program is FREE to OceanFirst customers who wish to connect their qualified accounts to enrolled nonprofits.

What accounts can be connected to a participating nonprofit organization?

Consumer and Business Checking Accounts and Consumer Savings Accounts (which include Money Market Accounts and CDs/IRAs).

Can I connect an account to more than one organization?

An account can only be linked to one organization. However, you may connect different eligible accounts to different enrolled organizations.

What information will you share with the nonprofit?

To protect your privacy, we will never divulge any specific information about your connected accounts (such as your name, the types of products you’ve connected, balance information, etc.).

How much can the nonprofit organization I link to earn?

Participating nonprofits will receive a quarterly donation based on the aggregated balances in accounts linked to the nonprofit. Donations will be calculated by applying a 0.25% APY to balances in all linked consumer and business checking accounts and 0.10% APY to all linked consumer savings or money market and .05% APY for CD accounts.

Can I use these donations as deductions on my taxes?

Your account balances are exclusively used to calculate the size of the donation OceanFirst Bank makes to the participating nonprofit of your choice. Because you are not making the contribution directly, it is not tax-deductible.
